25-26 School Year

Ages 3 – 5

Half-Day, Part-Time Preschool (AM)

Early childhood is the most crucial time for children's brain development.  A child’s early experiences play a major role in their future social, cognitive, emotional and physical development. (health.gov ). The goal of Chez Meri Preschool (CMP) is to support you and your child in making the most of this foundational time.

Along with teaching kindergarten-readiness skills like math and literacy, CMP has four core pillars that allow us to do our part in supporting students’ early learning and development:

  1. Dual-Language Immersion

Students will…

  • Begin learning a second language at an early age when their brains are at their highest level of neuroplasticity

  • Understand and speak French

  • Experience cognitive benefits of learning a second language such as enhanced problem solving, reasoning, communication and intercultural skills

Is younger always better when it comes to learning a foreign language?

Should I teach my child a second language or will it delay her language development?

  1. Social-Emotional Learning

Student will…

  • Practice identifying and communicating their own feelings and the feelings of others

  • Learn to use their assertive voice to communicate their wants and needs and to set boundaries with others

  • Grow in self-confidence and be empowered to challenge themselves and try new things

  1. Play – Children Learn by Doing

Students will…

  • Construct their own learning through opportunities to independently explore learning materials and their environment

  • Be provided with adequate time, space and teacher support to increase frequency of meaningful play

  • Learn by having FUN!

Play Curriculum: Project Construct (projectconstruct.org)

  1. Fostering a Connection to Nature

Students will…

  • Observe and grow plants

  • Tune in to seasonal changes in weather and the activity of local plants and animals

  • Do our part to protect the earth and its inhabitants through sustainable practices (i.e. reduce, reuse, recycle, compost, etc.)

  • Experiment with items found in nature (i.e. comparing the weight of rocks, observing to see if objects sink or float in water)

  • Learn foraging safety

If any of the above information interests you, CMP could be a great fit for both your child and your family!

Meet the teacher
I am a certified teacher with 6 years of experience in early childhood education. I strongly believe in the power of creating meaningful early learning experiences for my students.

Christine O.

Meredith is a simply delightful person and great teacher. She taught two of my daughters in a public school district preschool setting. She prepared them well academically and with lots of social-emotional learning! I also worked at the school and saw her in action from that lens as well. I have no doubt she will run her business with excellence and integrity!
